Order costs

Order costs: add your own per-order costs to Juicy

What order costs are

Order costs are costs that apply to every order but do not come from Shopify, things like payment provider reserves, fulfillment surcharges, insurance, and service fees. You define named entries, each with a fixed amount per order, a relative amount (a percentage of the order's net revenue), or both.

How Juicy calculates them

For every order we:

  1. Take each of your cost entries and check its validity window against the order's processed date (the start and end dates count as inside the window). Entries with no dates set always apply.
  2. Add the fixed amount, converting it into the order currency if needed.
  3. Add the percentage of the order's net revenue.
  4. Subtract the total from the order's gross profit.

Cancelled orders get no order costs. Every order keeps a breakdown of which entries applied and how much each one contributed, you can see it on the order detail page.

What you can configure

  • Name - free text, shown in the breakdown on the order detail page.
  • Fixed amount - a flat cost subtracted from each order.
  • Relative amount - a percentage of the order's net revenue.
  • Start date and end date - optional. No dates means the entry applies to all orders regardless of when they were processed.

Good to know

Adding, changing, or removing an entry recalculates all your orders. This can take a few minutes. Relative costs are based on net revenue after discounts, refunds, and taxes.

Order costs appear on the dashboard, the profit and loss statement, the order overview, and each order's detail page.
