How the Juicy Pixel Works
The Juicy Pixel improves your marketing attribution by helping Juicy connect future purchases back to the original ad click.
It is used only for attribution. Your profit calculations work the same whether the pixel is enabled or not.
What happens when I enable the Juicy Pixel?
When the pixel is enabled, Juicy adds attribution data to the order's Additional Notes in Shopify.
This data helps Juicy remember where the customer originally came from, even when the customer returns and places an order later.
The Additional Notes are used only for attribution and are not shown to customers.
How it works
- A customer clicks one of your ads.
- The Juicy Pixel records the visit and the available ad information.
- The customer may leave the store without purchasing.
- The customer returns later and places an order.
- Juicy uses the stored information to connect the order to the original ad click.
Why are Additional Notes needed?
Customers do not always purchase during their first visit.
For example, a customer may click a Facebook ad today and return several days or weeks later to complete the purchase.
Without the Juicy Pixel, it may not be possible to connect that order to the original ad click.
With the pixel enabled, Juicy can use the attribution data stored in the order's Additional Notes to identify the relevant ad, campaign and platform.
Does the Juicy Pixel affect my store?
No.
The Juicy Pixel does not:
- change your storefront
- change your checkout
- change your products
- affect the customer experience
- display anything to your customers
It only stores attribution data that Juicy uses when analysing your advertising performance.
What happens if I do not enable the pixel?
Juicy will still calculate your financial results, including:
- Revenue
- Gross profit
- Net profit
- COGS
- Shipping costs
- Transaction fees
- Taxes
- Ad spend
These calculations are not dependent on the Juicy Pixel.
However, your marketing attribution may be less accurate because Juicy has fewer signals available to determine which ads influenced each order.
Your profit and loss calculations remain accurate. The pixel only affects the quality of your marketing attribution.
What becomes less reliable without the pixel?
Without the Juicy Pixel, the following may be less accurate:
- attribution by platform
- attribution by campaign
- attribution by ad
- customer journeys
- attributed revenue
- attributed profit
- blended and campaign-level ROAS
Can customers see the Additional Notes?
No.
The attribution data is not displayed on your storefront or during checkout and is not visible to customers.
Can I disable the Juicy Pixel?
Yes.
You can disable it at any time.
Juicy will continue calculating your revenue, costs and profit, but attribution for future visits and orders may become less accurate.
