# How Juicy Handles Shipping Costs

## How Juicy Handles Shipping Costs
Juicy clearly distinguishes between **two different types of shipping costs**.

### 1. Shipping paid by the customer
This is the shipping amount shown in the Shopify order and paid by the customer at checkout.
* If the customer pays for shipping, Juicy **automatically imports** this amount from Shopify
* If the customer has free shipping, the shipping amount is **€0**
* **No manual setup is required** in Juicy
👉 Any shipping amount paid by the customer is **included in the order revenue (turnover) in Juicy**, exactly as it appears in Shopify.
Juicy does not calculate or modify this value.

### 2. Actual shipping cost (what you pay the carrier)
This is the **real cost** you pay to your shipping carriers (for example DHL, UPS, etc.).
* These costs are **not sent by Shopify**
* Shopify does not know your carrier costs
* Therefore, they must be **configured manually in Juicy**
You can set these values in:
**Settings → Shipping costs**

Juicy allows you to define shipping costs:
* **per country**
* **by weight**
* **by quantity**
This makes it possible to model different carrier prices depending on destination and order size.
